武举制度
武举是科举考试制度中的武科，目的是选拔军事人才。武举由武则天于公元702年开始推行，考试内容包括箭、弓、刀、石等。以后宋、明等朝都有武举，至清朝时改称武科。中国历史上武举一共进行过约五百次。相对于文科举，武科举较为不受重视。历朝的武举时而被废，时而恢复。

Military Examination System
The military examination system was designed to screen for talented individuals in the military. It was first implemented by Wu Zetian in 702 AD and included tests with the arrow, bow, stone, etc. It later evolved during the Song and Ming Dynasties and was renamed "military subject" during the Qing Dynasty. There have been about 500 military examinations in Chinese history. Compared with academic examinations, the military examination was not valued and was cancelled and restored time after time.
