Peking Man, officially known as the "Sinanthropus Pekinensis", or more properly known as the "Homo Erectus Pekinensis", lived about 700,000 years ago. Their fossilized remains were discovered in Longgushan Mountain, Zhoukoudian, Fangshan District, insouthwestern Beijing. In 1927, the human fossils were discovered in Longgushan Mountain, Zhoukoudian, Beijing. About 690,000 years ago, this primitive being had taken on the basic human features.
